RF Treatment to firm skin on the face and body.

Radiofrequency energy, delivered through electrodes in a pleasant massaging action, warms tissue from within, aiming to tighten skin, firm the body and reduce cellulite.

What is RF Treatment?

Radiofrequency heat to firm the skin on the face and body.

RF Treatment is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment. Electrodes applied to the body in a pleasant massaging action deliver radiofrequency energy that generates internal heat in the tissue. It is used to tighten and soften skin, contour and firm the body and reduce cellulite.

It is designed to facilitate the exchange of positive and negative ions in the cells, to maintain a balanced state of healthy cells. This aims to improve cell metabolism and blood circulation, and to increase oxygen levels in tissues and cells.

Because it doesn't damage the skin, there is minimal to no downtime. Our doctor may offer a combination of methods or treatments to work towards the result you want.

  • Non-invasive — energy is delivered through intact skin
  • No numbing cream — a deep warmth builds as the energy is delivered
  • 30 minutes — per session
  • Minimal downtime — minimal to zero, as the skin is not damaged

How it works

How does RF Treatment work?

Electrodes applied to the body deliver radiofrequency energy that generates internal heat in the tissue, in a pleasant massaging action. The warmth raises the internal temperature and activates collagen, fibroblasts and elastin. It also supports cell metabolism and blood circulation, without damaging the skin.

Uses

What can RF Treatment be used for?

RF Treatment is used for facial anti-ageing, body contouring and firming, and cellulite. Your doctor will recommend the number of sessions and whether to combine methods for your goals.

Sensitive skin or a history of skin allergy? Tell your doctor first.

  • Anti-ageing

Aims to tighten and soften the skin by activating collagen, fibroblasts and elastin.

  • Body contouring & firming

Raises the internal temperature and activates metabolism and fibroblasts. This helps the body eliminate fats without damaging tissue, while improving skin firmness.

  • Cellulite reduction

Aims to reduce cellulite by activating the collagen, fibroblasts and elastin of the cells.

Your treatment journey

Consultation, a warm treatment, then a planned course.

  1. Consult

Our doctor discusses the reason for treatment, your skin and any history of skin allergy, and plans your sessions or a combination of treatments.

  2. Prepare

Proionic Cream is applied to the treatment area. No numbing cream is needed.

  3. Treat

Electrodes are moved over the skin in a massaging action for 30 minutes. You feel a deep warmth as the thermal energy builds up.

  4. Review

There is minimal to zero downtime. Some results are likely by the end of two weeks, and your doctor reviews progress across the course.

Safety & expectations

Your doctor plans the number of sessions around the reason for treatment, the area and how you respond.

RF Treatment is not suitable for everyone. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, or have a pacemaker, a metal implant, a skin infection, an open wound or reduced sensation in the area.

RF Treatment: frequently asked questions

What is RF treatment (radiofrequency treatment)?

RF (radiofrequency) treatment uses radiofrequency energy to generate heat in the tissue beneath the skin. At Fusion Medical, Proionic Cream is applied and electrodes are moved over the area in a massaging action for 30 minutes. It is used to tighten and soften the skin, contour and firm the body and reduce cellulite.

What are the side effects of RF treatment?

RF treatment does not damage the skin, so side effects are usually mild. Warmth and temporary redness in the treated area are common and settle. Burns or blistering are rare. RF may not be suitable if you are pregnant or have a pacemaker or metal implant, so tell your doctor about these before treatment.

Does RF Treatment hurt?

Proionic Cream is applied before RF Treatment. As the thermal energy builds up, you feel a sensation of deep warmth, but it is not painful, and no numbing cream is required. Tell us straight away if anything feels too hot, so the treatment can be adjusted.

How many RF Treatment sessions do I need?

Each RF Treatment session takes 30 minutes. The number of sessions depends on the reason for treatment and on you as an individual. You are likely to need four to twelve sessions depending on the severity of your condition, with more intensive treatments at the beginning. Our doctor may suggest combining methods or treatments.

Is there any downtime after RF Treatment?

There is minimal to zero downtime after RF Treatment, because it does not damage the skin. Let us know beforehand if you have sensitive skin or any history of skin allergy, so that your treatment can be planned around it.

When will I see results from RF Treatment?

You are likely to experience some results from RF Treatment by the end of two weeks. This depends on the area, the severity of the condition and the intensity of the sessions. Do check with our doctors for more detail on what to expect in your case.

How is RF Treatment different from XERF, RF & Ultrasound and EMS & RF Face Treatment?

All of them use radiofrequency energy, in different ways. RF Treatment uses electrodes in a massaging action with Proionic Cream, on the face or body, in 30-minute sessions. XERF™ uses multifrequency monopolar radiofrequency with surface cooling to heat several skin layers, including the SMAS. RF & Ultrasound Treatment adds ultrasound for fat lipolysis and collagen remodelling. EMS & RF Face Treatment pairs RF with facial muscle stimulation. Your doctor will advise which suits your concern.
