Ultherapy PRIME · Singapore

Ultherapy PRIME for the brow, jaw, neck and décolleté.

Building on the original Ultherapy, PRIME uses micro-focused ultrasound, guided by real-time imaging, to treat 3 depths beneath an untouched skin surface.

What is Ultherapy PRIME?

Micro-focused ultrasound, guided by real-time imaging.

Ultherapy PRIME is a non-surgical treatment that builds on the original Ultherapy. Micro-focused ultrasound targets deep layers of skin tissue, leaving the surface untouched, to lift, tighten and smooth areas of the face and body. It is FDA-cleared to lift the brow, under the chin and the neck, and to improve lines and wrinkles on the décolleté.

It works on several areas, including the neck, chin, brow and décolleté, where it can address sagging skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Energy is delivered at 3 depths (1.5mm, 3mm and 4.5mm), reaching both the dermis and the foundational tissue layers where laxity begins, including the SMAS, the supportive layer beneath the fat.

Ultherapy PRIME may suit you if you are looking to lift and tighten your skin without surgery, have mild to moderate skin laxity, and want a non-invasive option with minimal downtime. At our Singapore clinic, all Ultherapy treatments are carried out on the PRIME system.

  • 3 depths — 1.5mm, 3mm and 4.5mm beneath the surface
  • Real-time imaging — the doctor sees the tissue layers before treating
  • Delicate areas — energy settings for the neck, chin and brows
  • Minimal downtime — most people return to their daily routine immediately

How it works

How does Ultherapy PRIME work?

Ultherapy PRIME delivers micro-focused ultrasound energy to 3 depths (1.5mm, 3mm and 4.5mm), targeting both the dermis and the foundational tissue layers where laxity begins. Real-time ultrasound imaging shows the doctor these layers before energy is delivered. The energy triggers the body's natural regenerative response and boosts collagen production to lift and tighten the skin, with gradual improvement over two to three months.

Treatment areas

Which areas can Ultherapy PRIME treat?

Ultherapy PRIME can lift, tighten and smooth several areas in one plan. Your doctor assesses each area first and customises treatment to your needs, because the response of each patient and each treated area varies with the degree of skin laxity.

Pregnant, or have an infection or implant in the area? Tell your doctor first.

  • Face

Forehead, cheeks and jaw: sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles, drooping cheeks and jowls, and nasolabial folds and marionette lines around the nose and mouth.

  • Brows

A lowered or heavy-looking brow, which can make the upper eyelids look hooded. Ultherapy PRIME is FDA-cleared to lift the eyebrow. Under-eye bags are not among its cleared uses; see eye bag removal.

  • Under the chin & neck

Loose skin under the chin and a 'turkey neck'. Ultherapy PRIME is FDA-cleared to lift lax tissue under the chin and on the neck.

  • Décolleté

The chest, with additional attention to reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Ultherapy PRIME system features
Feature On Ultherapy PRIME thenGood to know
Processing A faster refresh rate, a dual-core processor and reduced boot-up time. Treatment time still depends on the areas treated.
Imaging Reduced visual noise, a larger screen and a bigger ultrasound field. The doctor uses the image to check skin contact and treatment depth.
Delicate areas Energy settings for smaller or more delicate areas, such as the neck, under the chin and the brows. Lines and wrinkles on the décolleté can also be treated.
Comfort Energy is delivered to the targeted area while avoiding surrounding tissues. Numbing cream may be applied; tell your doctor if you feel uncomfortable.

What to expect

Consultation, preparation, treatment, then straight back to your day.

  1. Consultation

Our doctor assesses your condition and discusses your goals, so the treatment is customised to meet your specific needs.

  2. Preparation

Your skin is cleansed, and a topical numbing cream may be applied to keep you comfortable during the session.

  3. Treatment

Ultrasound gel is applied to the treatment area, and real-time imaging guides where the energy is delivered. You may feel heat or tingling when the probe is applied to your skin.

  4. Aftercare

You receive aftercare instructions and can return to your daily routine immediately, with makeup if needed. Any slight flushing should subside within a few hours, and improvement builds gradually over two to three months.

Safety & expectations

Your treatment is customised to your specific needs after a consultation with our doctors.

Ultherapy PRIME is non-surgical and leaves the skin surface intact. Let your doctor know about your medical history, medicines, any implants or recent treatments in the area, and whether you might be pregnant.

Ultherapy Prime: frequently asked questions

What is Ultherapy PRIME?

Ultherapy PRIME is a non-surgical treatment that uses micro-focused ultrasound to target deep layers of skin tissue without impacting the skin's surface. It works at 3 depths (1.5mm, 3mm and 4.5mm) to stimulate collagen, lifting, tightening and smoothing areas of the face and body. It is FDA-cleared to lift the brow, under the chin and the neck, and to improve lines and wrinkles on the décolleté.

What is the difference between Ultherapy and Ultherapy PRIME?

Ultherapy PRIME builds on the original Ultherapy: both use micro-focused ultrasound, guided by real-time ultrasound imaging, to treat deep layers beneath an untouched skin surface. PRIME has a faster refresh rate, a dual-core processor and reduced boot-up time; a larger screen and a bigger ultrasound field, with less visual noise; and energy settings for smaller areas such as the neck, under the chin and the brows. At Fusion Medical, all Ultherapy treatments use the PRIME system. HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) is the broader name for this technology.

Is Ultherapy PRIME suitable for everyone?

Ultherapy PRIME may suit people who want to lift and tighten their skin without surgery, have mild to moderate skin laxity, and want a non-invasive option with minimal downtime. It is not right for everyone, so our doctor assesses your condition, medical history and goals before recommending it, and can discuss other treatments that may be used instead of, or alongside, Ultherapy PRIME.

Does Ultherapy PRIME hurt?

You may feel heat or tingling when the Ultherapy PRIME probe is applied to your skin, and a topical numbing cream may be applied beforehand for comfort. How it feels varies between areas and between people, so tell your doctor if you feel uncomfortable during the session.

What are the side effects of Ultherapy PRIME, and is there downtime?

Ultherapy PRIME does not break the skin, so downtime is minimal: you can usually return to your daily routine immediately and apply makeup if needed. The skin may look slightly flushed at first, which should subside within a few hours. Some people notice redness, swelling, tenderness or tingling in the treated area, and rarely, transient nerve effects have been reported. Your doctor reviews your medical history first and gives you aftercare instructions.

How many Ultherapy PRIME treatments will I need?

Most patients see improvement after one Ultherapy PRIME treatment, as new collagen forms over the following two to three months. However, the response of each patient and each treated area varies with the degree of skin laxity, so your doctor will assess you and advise whether a further session is worthwhile.

When will I see results from Ultherapy PRIME, and how long do they last?

Most patients see a gradual improvement over two to three months after Ultherapy PRIME, as collagen production increases. Results can last up to a year or more. The degree and timing of change vary between individuals, and your doctor will tell you what to reasonably expect.

Is Ultherapy PRIME the same as a facelift?

No. Ultherapy PRIME is a non-surgical treatment with no incisions. It lifts and tightens gradually by stimulating collagen in the deeper layers, including the SMAS, the supportive layer that surgical facelifts also address. However, it cannot reproduce the degree of tissue repositioning possible with surgery. Your doctor will talk you through the options for your degree of laxity.
