Radiofrequency + ultrasound · Singapore

RF & Ultrasound Treatment to tighten and contour.

Monopolar radiofrequency and ultrasound are combined to stimulate fat lipolysis and collagen remodelling, to tighten lax skin and contour the face and body.

What is RF & Ultrasound Treatment?

Radiofrequency and ultrasound together, for laxity on the face and body.

RF & Ultrasound Treatment is a non-surgical treatment for skin laxity on the face and body. It combines monopolar radiofrequency (RF) energy and ultrasound to stimulate fat lipolysis (the breakdown of fat cells) and collagen remodelling for skin tightening, to contour the body and face.

During the session you feel a warming sensation as the energy reaches the deeper layers of the skin at a targeted depth.

Our doctors will help you choose the most appropriate treatment plan. They may suggest an alternative treatment, or a combination of treatment modalities, for the result you want.

  • Dual energy — monopolar RF combined with ultrasound
  • Face & body — from the eye area to the abdomen
  • 4 treatments — usually recommended, 7–10 days apart
  • 15–30 minutes — per body part, depending on the area

How it works

How does RF & Ultrasound Treatment work?

The dual energy speeds up the metabolic activity of fat cells and causes them to shrink. At the same time, it stimulates and strengthens the collagen network, which improves skin laxity and texture. The energy reaches the deeper layers of the skin at a targeted depth, so you feel warmth during the session.

RF & Ultrasound Treatment: frequently asked questions

What is RF & Ultrasound Treatment?

RF & Ultrasound Treatment is a non-surgical way to tighten lax skin and contour the face and body. A handpiece delivers monopolar radiofrequency and ultrasound together to a targeted depth, where the energy speeds up the metabolic activity of fat cells so they shrink, and strengthens the collagen network. It is usually given as a course of 4 treatments.

How many RF & Ultrasound treatments do I need?

4 treatments are usually recommended, 7–10 days apart. Each RF & Ultrasound treatment of a specific body part usually takes between 15 and 30 minutes, but this can vary depending on the treated area and indication. Your doctor will confirm the plan that suits your concern.

Will I feel pain during RF & Ultrasound Treatment?

Most patients describe the sensation of RF & Ultrasound Treatment as comparable to a hot stone massage. You feel a warming sensation as the energy is delivered to the deeper layers of the skin. Tell your doctor straight away if anything feels too hot, so the treatment can be adjusted.

How soon will I see results from RF & Ultrasound Treatment?

This very much depends on the treated area, its condition and other factors. You may see visible improvements after a single session, and results typically improve over a 3-month follow-up period. Do discuss with our doctors whether an alternative treatment or a combination of treatments would help.

Which areas can RF & Ultrasound Treatment be used on?

On the face, RF & Ultrasound Treatment can be used on the eye area, mouth, chin area, jawline and neck. On the body, it can treat the arms, legs, buttocks, abdomen and love handles. Your doctor will help you choose the most appropriate areas and plan for your goals.

Is RF & Ultrasound Treatment the same as HIFU?

No. HIFU focuses ultrasound energy onto points in the deep layers of the skin, causing controlled micro-damage that stimulates a lifting effect. RF & Ultrasound Treatment combines monopolar radiofrequency with ultrasound. It delivers warming energy at a targeted depth to shrink fat cells and strengthen the collagen network. Your doctor will advise which suits your concern.

Are there side effects or downtime after RF & Ultrasound Treatment?

RF & Ultrasound Treatment is non-surgical, so most people go back to their usual activities straight afterwards. Warmth, temporary redness or tenderness in the treated area can occur and usually settle. Burns or blistering are uncommon but possible with any energy-based treatment. Contact the clinic if anything concerns you after a session.
