Skin bio-remodelling · Singapore

Profhilo in Singapore for skin hydration and firmness.

A pure hyaluronic acid injectable, often called a skin bio-remodelling treatment, that spreads evenly under the skin to improve texture, hydration and elasticity for natural-looking rejuvenation.

What is Profhilo?

Pure hyaluronic acid, spread evenly beneath the skin.

Profhilo® is an injectable treatment made from pure hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance naturally found in the body that attracts and holds moisture. It is formulated to spread evenly under the skin to improve hydration and encourage collagen and elastin production over time, improving overall skin quality.

As we age, our skin naturally loses moisture, elasticity and volume, which can bring dryness, fine lines and a dull, fatigued appearance. Often called a ‘skin bio-remodelling treatment’, Profhilo is a non-surgical way to refresh the skin and boost hydration.

Unlike dermal fillers, which are specific to targeted areas, Profhilo is not used to create volume or contour; instead it treats the entirety of your face. The slow release of HA stimulates the body's own collagen and elastin, which can help skin look refreshed, supple and radiant.

Developed in Italy and used internationally since 2015, Profhilo contains two types of hyaluronic acid, low- and high-molecular-weight, formulated with NAHYCO® Hybrid Technology, which is why it is also described as a hybrid HA injectable.

  • Pure HA — low- and high-molecular-weight, in one treatment
  • 5 points per side — the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) technique
  • Around 45 minutes — including numbing
  • Minimal downtime — mild swelling or bruising that settles in days

How it works

How does Profhilo work?

Profhilo contains low- and high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid. It is thermally rather than chemically cross-linked, so it spreads out and is released slowly over 28 days. The low-weight HA hydrates the skin (a ‘hydro’ effect), while the high-weight HA supports bio-remodelling of the skin tissue (a ‘lift’ effect), without adding volume.

Low- and high-molecular-weight HA

The low-molecular-weight HA is released slowly as a hybrid complex and hydrates your skin. The high-molecular-weight HA supports bio-remodelling of skin tissue in the epidermis, dermis and fat layer, for a lifting effect.

Who it suits

Who is Profhilo suitable for?

Profhilo suits adults noticing dull or dehydrated skin, mild to moderate signs of skin laxity, or a loss of skin firmness or glow. It is often used as part of a preventative or maintenance routine, and suits both men and women looking for a subtle, natural-looking refresh.

Pregnant, breastfeeding or have a skin infection? Tell your doctor first.

  • Dull or dehydrated skin

Deep hydration for dry or tired-looking skin, which can improve its texture and radiance over time.

  • Mild to moderate laxity

Improved skin elasticity and firmness, including early sagging in the cheeks, temples and lower face. With moderately sagging skin, another 1 or 2 sessions may be needed to see a lifting effect.

  • Fine lines and crepey texture

A reduction in fine lines and crepey skin texture as collagen and elastin production is encouraged.

  • Neck, décolletage and hands

Beyond the face, Profhilo can be used on the neck, décolletage and even the hands.

Your treatment journey

Mark the points. Numb. Five injections per side. Repeat in 4 weeks.

  1. Consult

Your doctor assesses your skin and goals, reviews your medical history and confirms whether Profhilo, alone or combined with other treatments, suits you.

  2. Mark & numb

Your doctor marks the Bio Aesthetic Points on your skin, then a topical numbing cream is applied.

  3. Treat

Once the numbing cream is effective, Profhilo is injected at five points on each side of the face. The visit takes around 45 minutes, including numbing.

  4. Repeat

Mild swelling or bruising usually settles within a few days. Most patients have a second treatment 4 weeks later; after that, two maintenance sessions every 6 months are recommended.

Safety & expectations

Profhilo is about skin quality: a subtle, natural-looking refresh rather than added volume.

Profhilo is given by a doctor after a consultation about your skin, goals and medical history. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a skin infection or allergies, take any medicines, or have had fillers or other injectables recently, and follow the aftercare advice you are given.

Profhilo: frequently asked questions

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable treatment made from pure hyaluronic acid, often called a skin bio-remodelling treatment. It spreads evenly under the skin to improve hydration and encourage collagen and elastin production over time. Unlike dermal fillers, Profhilo is not used to create volume or contour; it treats the whole face to improve overall skin quality.

How are Profhilo injections done?

Profhilo injections are given with the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) technique: five small injections on each side of the face, designed for even distribution of the product and minimal downtime. Your doctor first marks the points on your skin and applies numbing cream, then injects Profhilo once the cream is effective. The whole treatment takes around 45 minutes, including numbing.

How many Profhilo sessions will I need?

The hydrating effects of Profhilo can be seen after one session, but for most patients about 2 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart are recommended. People with moderately sagging skin may need another 1 or 2 sessions to see a lifting effect. After that, two maintenance sessions every 6 months are recommended; your doctor will confirm your schedule.

How long do Profhilo results last?

Profhilo's hydrating effect can show after one session, while bio-remodelling and collagen-building results can take up to 3 to 6 months to be evident. Generally, results last for about a year. Maintenance sessions every 6 months help keep them, and your doctor will advise on timing for your skin.

What are the side effects of Profhilo, and is there downtime?

Profhilo has minimal downtime, and most people return to their usual activities straight away. Common side effects are mild discomfort in the injected areas and mild swelling, redness or bruising at the injection points, which usually subside within a few days; cold compresses can help. As with any hyaluronic acid injection, an injection can rarely block a blood vessel, so seek urgent care for severe pain, pale or mottled skin, or any change in vision.

Is Profhilo a filler or a skin booster?

Profhilo is not a dermal filler. Traditional dermal fillers are designed to volumise specific areas, while Profhilo is formulated to improve skin architecture: it is not used to add volume or change the shape of your face. It is often grouped with skin boosters and described as bio-remodelling. Its mix of high- and low-molecular-weight HA, known as hybrid hyaluronic acid, is why it is also called a hybrid HA skin booster; compare all our options on the skin boosters page.

Who should consider Profhilo, and when should it wait?

Profhilo is suitable for adults, both men and women, who notice dull or dehydrated skin, mild to moderate skin laxity, or a loss of firmness or glow, and it is often used as part of a preventative or maintenance routine. Treatment may need to wait if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a skin infection, or have had fillers or other injectables recently.

Can Profhilo be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Profhilo can be combined with other aesthetic treatments as a holistic approach to the signs of ageing: for example, collagen skin boosters, treatments that improve skin texture, or lifting treatments such as Ultherapy PRIME. Profhilo can give a subtle lift, but it does not replace a surgical facelift. Our doctors can recommend which treatments suit you, depending on your skin condition.
