Tumour markers are clues, not a diagnosis.

A normal result doesn't rule cancer out, and a raised one often has another cause. Your doctor explains what yours mean.

Fusion Diamond: frequently asked questions

Who is Fusion Diamond for?

Fusion Diamond is recommended for adults aged 40 and above. It includes a doctor's consultation and examination, 13 laboratory profiles and three diagnostic tests of your choice. Your doctor can suggest a different package if your age, symptoms or family history call for other tests.

How much does Fusion Diamond cost?

Fusion Diamond costs S$1,090, inclusive of GST. Switching a diagnostic test to a whole-abdomen ultrasound or a 3D mammogram is a S$87.20 top-up; an abdomen ultrasound with elastography is a S$174.40 top-up. Optional additions are charged separately, such as a ThinPrep Pap test at S$54.50 and an AMILI gut health test at S$545.

Which diagnostic tests can I choose?

You choose three with your doctor, based on your age, sex, symptoms and history: a treadmill ECG, or an ultrasound of the thyroid, kidney, liver & gallbladder, prostate (men) or pelvis (women), or a breast ultrasound (women) and a 2D mammogram (women). Your doctor explains what each one looks at.

Do I need to fast before the screening?

Yes. Fast for at least 8 hours before your blood tests, drinking plain water only, unless your doctor advises otherwise. If you take medicines for diabetes, check with us before you fast.

Are tumour markers a test for cancer?

Not on their own. A normal tumour marker does not rule out cancer, and a raised one often has another cause, so results are always interpreted with your doctor. Recommended cancer screening depends on your age and sex, for example a mammogram, cervical screening or colorectal screening, and your doctor can advise which apply to you.

What happens after the screening?

A doctor goes through your results with you, explains which are within the normal range and which need a repeat test or follow-up, and gives you a medical report. If anything needs further tests or a specialist, your doctor arranges it.

Can I add tests to the package?

Yes. Your doctor can add tests that suit your age, symptoms or family history, such as a ThinPrep Pap test at S$54.50 and an AMILI gut health test at S$545. The fee for any addition is confirmed before it is done.
