Tumour markers are not reliable screening tests on their own: a normal result does not rule out cancer, and a raised result often has another cause. Your doctor explains your results and which cancer screening suits your age.

Your scans

Three diagnostic tests, all included.

All of these are part of the package; your doctor explains each result.

Good to know

Tumour markers are clues, not a diagnosis.

A normal result doesn't rule cancer out, and a raised one often has another cause. Your doctor explains what yours mean.

Fusion Perimenopause & Menopause: frequently asked questions

Who is Fusion Perimenopause & Menopause for?

Fusion Perimenopause & Menopause is recommended for women. It includes a doctor's consultation and examination, 15 laboratory profiles and three diagnostic tests. Your doctor can suggest a different package if your age, symptoms or family history call for other tests.

How much does Fusion Perimenopause & Menopause cost?

Fusion Perimenopause & Menopause costs S$1,690, inclusive of GST.

Which diagnostic tests are included?

The package includes a treadmill ECG, an ultrasound of the pelvis and a 3D mammogram. Your doctor explains what each one looks at and goes through the results with you.

Do I need to fast before the screening?

Yes. Fast for at least 8 hours before your blood tests, drinking plain water only, unless your doctor advises otherwise. If you take medicines for diabetes, check with us before you fast.

Are tumour markers a test for cancer?

Not on their own. A normal tumour marker does not rule out cancer, and a raised one often has another cause, so results are always interpreted with your doctor. Recommended cancer screening depends on your age and sex, for example a mammogram, cervical screening or colorectal screening, and your doctor can advise which apply to you.

What happens after the screening?

A doctor goes through your results with you, explains which are within the normal range and which need a repeat test or follow-up, and gives you a medical report. If anything needs further tests or a specialist, your doctor arranges it.

Can I add tests to the package?

Yes. Your doctor can add tests that suit your age, symptoms or family history. The fee for any addition is confirmed before it is done.
