Screen for Life · Singapore

Screen for Life, now called Healthier SG Screening.

Subsidised screening for heart and blood vessel risk, and for cervical and colorectal cancer, recommended by age and sex. Fusion Medical is a CHAS GP clinic and a Healthier SG clinic offering it to eligible residents.

What is Screen for Life?

Screen when you feel well, then act on what you find.

Screen for Life is Singapore's national subsidised screening programme, now called Healthier SG Screening. It covers screening for cardiovascular risk factors, such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol, and for cervical and colorectal cancer. Which tests you are due for depends on your age, sex, health history and the date of your last screen.

Fusion Medical is a CHAS GP clinic and a Healthier SG clinic: we offer Healthier SG Screening at the subsidised rates, by appointment, and are a site for subsidised screening mammograms. Eligible Singapore Citizens generally pay $5 or less at participating CHAS GP clinics, and those enrolled with Healthier SG (健康SG) may receive fully subsidised screening at their enrolled clinic. The fee covers the recommended tests done in the same visit and the doctor's consultation, and the first follow-up consultation is included when required under the programme.

What is screened

Which screening tests does the programme cover?

Screening is for people without symptoms. The recommended test is chosen by your age, sex and previous results, and an abnormal result is confirmed or assessed further rather than treated as a diagnosis by itself.

Screening generally includes your blood pressure, measurements such as height, weight and waist circumference, and blood tests for diabetes and high cholesterol. It is generally offered from 40, every 3 years, if you have not been diagnosed with these conditions.

Eligibility

Are you due for a subsidised screen?

Age opens the door; your history decides whether a test is due. Eligibility is checked against available government and clinical records, and can differ with a previous diagnosis, earlier screening or a higher-risk history.

New symptoms need a doctor's assessment, not a screening appointment.

Healthier SG Screening schedule
Screen Usual eligibility thenTypical interval
Cardiovascular risk Men and women aged 40 and above, without an existing diagnosis. Every 3 years when eligible.
Cervical cancer Women aged 25 and above. Pap test every 3 years or HPV test every 5 years, by age.

Your screening journey

Verify. Screen. Review. Act.

  1. Verify

Check which subsidised screens you are due for, then book an appointment. No invitation letter or application is needed.

  2. Screen

Attend for the recommended measurements, blood tests or samples, after confirming any fasting or sample instructions.

  3. Review

Discuss your results and overall risk with the doctor; the first follow-up consultation is included when required.

  4. Act

Lifestyle support, repeat tests or diagnostic care, such as colposcopy or colonoscopy, when a result needs it.

Questions about the programme

An abnormal screening result is a prompt for clarification, not always a diagnosis.

Screening is not the right pathway for new symptoms. Tell a doctor about chest symptoms, unexplained weight loss, blood in the stool, unusual vaginal bleeding or a breast lump, and seek urgent care for severe symptoms rather than waiting for a screening appointment.

Screen for Life (SFL): frequently asked questions

Can I do my Screen for Life or Healthier SG screening at Fusion Medical?

Yes. Screen for Life is now called Healthier SG Screening, and Fusion Medical, a CHAS GP clinic and Healthier SG clinic, offers it at the subsidised rates for eligible residents: cardiovascular screening (blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol), cervical screening with a Pap or HPV test, and colorectal screening with a FIT kit. We are also a site for subsidised screening mammograms. Bring your NRIC and any CHAS, Pioneer Generation or Merdeka Generation card. Screening is by appointment only.

Do I need an invitation letter or form for Screen for Life?

No, you do not need an invitation letter for Screen for Life, now called Healthier SG Screening, and no application is required. As of September 2026, CHAS GP clinics can check your eligibility in their clinic system, or you can show it in the HealthHub app. Eligibility depends on your age, sex, health history and last screening date. Eligible Singapore Citizens should bring their NRIC and any CHAS, Merdeka Generation or Pioneer Generation card.

How much does Screen for Life cost?

Eligible Singapore Citizens generally pay $5 or less at participating CHAS GP clinics, while eligible people enrolled with Healthier SG may receive fully subsidised screening at their enrolled clinic. The fee covers the recommended tests done in the same visit and the doctor's consultation, and the first follow-up consultation if you need one. Confirm your current eligibility before booking.

What does cardiovascular screening include?

It generally includes blood pressure, measurements such as height, weight and waist circumference, and blood tests for diabetes and high cholesterol. It is generally offered from age 40, every 3 years, if you have not already been diagnosed with these conditions.

Can I screen earlier than the usual age?

People with symptoms or a higher-risk history may need a diagnostic or earlier risk assessment instead. Adults aged 18 to 39 identified as being at higher risk of diabetes may qualify for subsidised cardiovascular screening.

What happens after an abnormal result?

The doctor explains the finding and arranges confirmation, monitoring or referral. An abnormal screen is not always a final diagnosis: follow-up may include repeat measurements, confirmatory blood tests, colposcopy, colonoscopy or another assessment.

What is the difference between Screen for Life and a private health screening package?

Screen for Life, now called Healthier SG Screening, is a subsidised national programme with set tests and intervals, while a private health screening package is paid for by you or your employer. As of September 2026, eligible Singapore Citizens can screen at CHAS GP clinics for cardiovascular risk from 40, cervical cancer from 25 and colorectal cancer from 50, with mammograms from 50 at selected sites. A private package can add tests, but more is not always better.

Is mammography included?

Subsidised breast screening is available through selected polyclinics and sites, including Fusion Medical, with eligibility generally from age 50 and a two-year interval. It follows a different fee pathway from CHAS GP screening. At Fusion Medical, Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above can use MediSave for a screening mammogram, within CPF MediSave limits.
